Church people

We all know those occasions when families gather together, Mum and Dad, brothers and sisters, sons and daughters – for some families that can be a large number of people. If grand parents and all of the uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and the in-laws join in then there could be enough to fill a church! If you have a large family, you might be familiar with that daunting question of “Who is that over there in the red dress?” A great aunt who has lost (or gained) a few pounds? Nephew Sam’s latest girl friend? Or just some distant relation whose face you recognise, but you just cannot remember their name… and it would be oh so embarrassing if you had to ask!

Big families can be like that – you see some members every week and you know everything about them, some you only see occasionally know less well and sometimes even fail to recognise them. For situations like this a good family photograph album can be really useful!

Our church family can be very similar some times. We see some people week in week out and others less frequently. We know each other by sight, but would die of embarrassment if asked to name each other: a quite understandable situation for new members of the church, but arguably unforgiveable for those who have been members for a few (15 say) years. Yet some times still find ourselves unable to put names to faces of people whom we meet in church week in, week out.

The Church People pages are designed to help us to know one another a little better. To help put names to faces and to draw us together as one family in Christ. On these pages you will find the picture gallery, which names faces and identifies who is involved in what. There are also a number of profile articles on those people who have chosen to share a little of themselves with us. If you'd like to join in the sharing, please contact the webmaster.
